Weekend Meme: 3 Books Your Toddler Enjoys Reading

This one is created on Tabitha's own thought since Erik is really into reading. I know a few of the toddlers are also so let's share some of the favorite titles.

Rules:
1. Share 3 book titles that your toddler enjoys (and WHY)
2. Tag others
3. Leave a link or your actual book titles in the comment section

3 Books that Erik Enjoys Reading

1. Tumble Bumble - we borrowed this from the local library and it is indeed one of Erik's most sought after book in the evenings. SPOILER ALERT: He loves the part where all the animals get together in the kitchen eating away. Erik pretends to chow down as well!

2. Little Bo Peep Can't Get To Sleep - this is again borrowed from the local library. Erik loves this book because it rhymes as well as he can count the sheep and he loves saying "Cow jump over the moon" or "Dish ran away with the spoon"

3. Jungle Babies - This one we actually purchased from Borders Books, HAHA! Erik loves this because it has tiny "stuffed" animals for counting. It rhymes and it has an elephant! Our boy is really into elephants (and other animals, as well)

Okay, NOW your turn! Share away!

Well, Jackson has his own rules about reading...
1. If we want to read to him, we must read Goodnight Moon.
2. If we attempt to read the printed words for any other book, he will not listen or even allow us to continue.
3. For books other than Goodnight Moon, we must let him sit in our lap while we ask him questions about the pictures and make up stories about them. No actual reading allowed. Thank goodness for circle time to fill the gaps of this phase!

His favorites:
1. Goodnight Moon (of course)
2. The Water Hole
3. Let's Go To The Zoo

Karalyn doesn't sit still long enough for us to read an entire book! We have to improvise a lot, and she prefers being interactive.

1. Millie Moo
2. The Very Busy Spider
3. Elmo's Big Lift and Look Book

Audrey loves to read. You could entertain her for an entire day with books and "Outside! Outside! Outside!". Her favorites change daily, so here are the most recent ones:

1. 1,2,3 to the zoo
2. Dora's School Day
3. Little People Barnyard Babies "Lift and Look" book. I can't find a link for this one. Got it at Costco. The book is really cute (Jackson would like it because it's interactive and you don't really read). Each animal is a little piece of foam that the kid can take out of it's slot and underneath you see it's babies. So like The Horse has 1 Pony. The Cow has 2 calves. The Sheep has 3 lambs. etc.

I'd like to take this opportunity to apologize to Allison for Jackson's birthday gift! I hope you'll use the receipt provided and exchange it for something he likes better. :)

Kristy,

Erik LOVES Dora books as well! I had to get it on Ebay the whole stack for him. SIGH! He'll even say "Swiper No Swiping!" HAHAHA!

No apologies- Jackson actually adores books! He just like to read them in his own way! :)
